Thinking about moving

It has been in the back of my mind now for a number of years, whether to move to upstate New York and join my sister in her business, Pookie's Little Britches. She started her first store in April of 2003 and now it's 2009 and she is still going strong with two stores -- two successful stores. And who would have thought? Corning, New York is not normally on the list for cities people move to to start businesses. It's certainly nice enough with and is a very classy little place, but it's just that, a little place. Last year my sister did over six figures in business and I could hardly believe it. I've visited several times and am so impressed with the business community and how tight-knit they are, and now that I think about it, no I'm not surprised.

My sister is Val Rook. She's a go-getter. Nothing stops her for very long. She is determined, and it is my guess that one day she will be more successful than even she can imagine.

God bless her, she has been asking me to move up and get involved in her business for almost as long as she has had it. In my next blog I'll explain how I'm already involved and what my plans are. . .if I ever get up the courage -- or the labodomy -- to leave my home here in sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and join her there to work on this plan.
